Description
This classic beauty stems all the way back to Queen Victoria in the 1800s. Now, when she’s had a sherry or three, our FC has been known to say she got the recipe from old Queen Vic herself. Now, we don’t know much about our dear FC, so we couldn’t possible pass judgement on whether this story is true or not, but all we know is she makes a darned good sponge cake.
Light yet buttery. Rich yet delicate. We love this sponge so much, it’s the base for many of our cake concoctions.
This one is filled with raspberry jam and buttercream and is lightly dusted with icing sugar on top for that authentic look.
